Obituaries

Carolyn Stewart Moss, age 95, of 114 Sullivan Dr., died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Tuesday, July 24, 2012. A native of Schley County, she was born July 4, 1917, the daughter of the late William Grady and Nellie Addie Lumpkin Stewart. Mrs. Moss was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus. She retired from Magnolia Manor where she was employed as an LPN. She had also worked at Prather Clinic and the Americus Hospital. She was a Sunday School teacher and a beautician.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Parks and Rev. Rusty Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Pall bearers include Allen Stewart, Darrell Stewart, David Byrd, Chuck Stewart, Julian Wells and Gary Wells. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 221 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709 or to Phoebe Sumter Hospice, P. O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709.
Survivors include her foster son, Dell Crowe and wife Kelly; a sister, Eva Mae Rigsby of Plains; a brother, Robert Edwin Stewart of Ellaville; five foster grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston H. Moss.
