My prayers are with you Barto and with your family. Bart was a good friend of my husband, Tom and our families did many things together. Give my love to Susan. A prayer: O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our brother Bart. We thank you for giving him to us, his family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who morn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. May God surround you with his comfort, strength and peace for today and the days to come.

"Little Bart", I know you are all grown up now, but that is what I will always call you. You were "Dr. Ray's" pride and joy. He loved you very much and was always proud of you. I miss seeing you, but at the time, it was the best thing to do. I hope you remember spending time with me and my son, Wes. You were a good child and I am sure you are a good man now. Write me sometimes and let me know how you are. Brenda Stanfield

My love goes out to Bart's family, who he loved dearly, but especially to his only son, Bartow, who he loved more than you can ever imagine. May God Bless you all in your loss and may He shine smiles on your faces and in your hearts as you remember and honor Bart. Love to you all.

Met Bart when he was an undergraduate at UGA and later supervised his M.S. degree thesis. We became friends and often made "joyful noises" together with our voices and guitars. Anne became frieds with him, too. One could not have a better friend than Bart given his generous nature and upbeat spirit.
